Structural steel plates are the backbone of construction, fabrication, and heavy engineering. From high-rise buildings and bridges to telecom towers and cranes, the structural integrity of any large-scale project depends on choosing the right grade. At Hindustan Steel Corporation, we offer one of the most extensive ranges of structural steel plates in India—fully certified, standard-compliant, and available with ready-to-download datasheets.
Whether you’re looking for EN 10025 S355J2, IS 2062 E350, ASTM A36, or DIN St52-3, you’ll find the right plate specification, yield strength, chemical analysis, and fabrication compatibility—all in one place.
Structural steel plate specifications refer to standardized attributes such as:
These specs ensure suitability for civil, mechanical, or structural load-bearing projects.
Structural steel plates are selected for precision-critical applications such as:
Mismatched or uncertified specs can lead to failure. Our plate specs meet global standards.

Buyers should consider:
IS 2062 E250 has a minimum yield strength of 250 MPa, while E350 offers 350 MPa. E350 is used for higher-load structures like bridges and industrial buildings, while E250 suits general construction.
You can request downloadable PDFs of any structural grade via email or WhatsApp from Hindustan Steel Corporation. These include MTCs, chemical/mechanical charts, and tolerances.
We follow IS 1852 and EN 10029 standards. Typical tolerances:
Yes, IS 2062 E350 can usually be welded without preheat under normal conditions. However, preheating may be needed for thicker plates or low-temperature environments.
Yes, all structural plates can be supplied with UT testing as per EN 10160 or ASTM A578 standards. We offer levels S1 to S3 or C/D/E on request.
ASTM A36 plates generally offer 20–23% elongation, depending on thickness and rolling condition, making them good for moderate ductility applications.
Grades like S355J2, E350BR, and DIN St52-3N are impact tested at -20°C. Ensure the plate is marked with “J2,” “N,” or “BR” for sub-zero use.
EN S275JR is roughly equivalent to IS 2062 E250. However, check individual YS, elongation, and chemistry specs before substitution in critical projects.
Carbon content varies by grade:
S355J2: ~0.20%
Low carbon improves weldability.
Yes, grades like IS 2062 and S355 can be hot-dip galvanized. Ensure silicon and phosphorus levels are within safe limits to avoid coating defects.
Yes. Every plate comes with a mill test certificate (MTC) that includes chemical composition, mechanical properties, and batch traceability
Common testing standards include:
Yes. We can arrange 3.2 certification through third-party agencies like Lloyd’s, DNV, or TUV for export or government project requirements.
EN 10025 covers European structural grades like S275JR, S355J2, while ASTM A572 includes Gr 42, 50, 60 for high-strength American standards. Refer to YS, CE, and elongation differences before interchange.
We cater to both small and bulk orders. For datasheet-based precision grades, the MOQ starts at 1 ton. Cut-to-size options are also available for low-volume needs.
