Abrex 500 Plates are industry-grade wear resistant steel plates with a nominal surface hardness of 500 BHN, designed for extremely abrasive and high-impact environments. Manufactured by Nippon Steel (Japan), Abrex 500 is one of the toughest steels in its class, offering superior durability, longer life, and better performance compared to conventional wear plates.

Abrex 500 is a quenched and tempered wear plate made with a proprietary alloy blend to achieve a consistent hardness of around 500 BHN. It is specifically engineered for applications that involve high sliding or impact abrasion, frequent material movement, and severe mechanical wear.
Its strength is balanced with adequate toughness and good weldability — making it ideal for dump truck bodies, hoppers, crushers, and ballistic-grade panels.
