GOST 380-94 Grade St3 structural steel plates are among the most widely used general-purpose carbon steels in Russian, CIS, and Eurasian-standard engineering projects. Recognized for their balance of workability, strength, and affordability, these plates are ideal for civil structures, fabrication units, agricultural equipment, machinery frames, and welded construction. GOST 380-94 is a Russian standard for ordinary quality structural carbon steel, and the St3 grade within it is equivalent to low-carbon structural steels used globally. St3 plates are supplied in three delivery conditions: St3ps (semi-killed), St3sp (killed), and St3kp (rimmed steel), with slight variation in mechanical properties and deoxidation levels.
These plates are used in structural frames, bridges, railings, machine parts, and equipment that do not require high strength or corrosion resistance. With a yield strength of approximately 245–285 MPa and good cold-forming characteristics, GOST St3 is favored in lightweight structures and mass fabrication work.
